Decision context
The purpose of due diligence is to make risk visible before it becomes inventory.
Private-label buyers must control specification, brand assets, formulation or design, packaging, compliance and manufacturing repeatability. Food sourcing depends on specification, allergens, microbiology, origin, batch traceability, packaging compatibility and remaining shelf life.
Prices become comparable only when specifications, responsibilities, delivery terms and evidence are aligned. The buying team should record assumptions before irreversible payment and define which findings trigger a hold or renegotiation.
